Symphony Nova Scotia performs: A Louisbourg Celebration

Ivars Taurins, founding director of the Tafelmusik Baroque Ochestra and Chamber Choir and principal baroque conductor of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra since 2001, will take the audience on a musical tour of Fortress Louisbourg, conducting the symphony in a performance of compositions from 18th-century France and England. He will also narrate a journey through the history of the fortress.

Taurins has looked to the music of Paris and London, from the sacred music of Charpentier and the operas, ballets, and divertissements of Lalande and Rameau to the grand celebratory music of Handel.

CBC will record the concert for online streaming and nationwide broadcast.

Tickets range from $29 to $52. Under-30s pay $15 with the TD Under-30 Access Pass, which is available free of charge at the box office.
