Queen's Jubilee Medal Nomination and Application Information

On February 6, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II marked the 60th anniversary of her accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada – an occasion marked only once before by Queen Victoria, in 1897.
In celebration of this event, a commemorative medal has been created to recognize 60,000 outstanding Canadians of all ages and from all walks of life, who have built and continue to build this caring society and country through their service, contributions, and achievements.
As a Member of Parliament, Megan has 30 medals to present.
Eligibility Criteria:
*To be eligible for a medal presented by Megan Leslie, MP, the recipient must meet the following criteria:
*The recipient is a resident of the Federal Riding of Halifax.
*The recipient is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
*The recipient has made major contributions to their communities.
*The recipient was alive on February 6, 2012. The medal may be awarded posthumously.
*The recipient has not been previous recognized for their contributions.
Nomination Deadline:
The deadline for submitting nominations is September 4, 2012
All medals will be presented at a ceremony in Halifax during November 2012.
